How to reach Anonymous Reporting
Initial contact with our service will be answered at any time of the day or night, including weekends. Our UK and US reception service triage calls, so there’s always 24-hour coverage. When your call comes in during these periods, our team takes a message, and you’ll receive an email from Tell Jane.
Our trained and qualified Tell Jane consultants will then arrange a time that suits you during business working hours (normally 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday) to discuss your concerns in more detail and work towards a resolution.
Can’t find your local number, or your organisation doesn’t have an Anonymous Reporting number yet? No problem! Please fill out our website contact form whenever it suits you and we’ll get back to you.
Our Anonymous Reporting service is predominantly in English, but we’re happy to connect you with Tell Jane consultants who speak Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish. If you’d prefer another language, please fill out the website contact form in your own time and we’ll gladly arrange a translator for you.
When you call Anonymous Reporting, you can talk about or report whatever feels right for you. You might wonder if your concern is not serious enough or not a ‘real’ issue, but if it’s on your mind, it matters.
Our impartial, empathetic Tell Jane consultants are here to listen, support you and help you feel confident. Although this isn’t a complete list, people often talk about the following concerns:
Unwanted behaviour that feels unsafe
Behaviours at work that have made them feel uncomfortable, unsafe or unsettled, including from third parties such as clients and customersUnfair treatment because of who they are
Unfair treatment at work because of who they are, such as refusing time off for religious holidays or being repeatedly belittled by their manager because of their ageUninvited sexual behaviour
Unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature that has left them feeling humiliated, such as being asked about their sexual preferences or being openly leered at.
Support to speak up for someone else
Overhearing a colleague making inappropriate remarks to a junior team member and being unsure how to step in.Feeling excluded and left out
Noticing their team was leaving them out of social chats or after work meet-ups and leaving them feeling isolated.Difficulties with a line manager
Struggling with their line manager and being worried about how to manage this.
Uncertainty about a colleague’s behaviour
Working with a colleague who is regularly putting their arm around them and making flirty comments, and feeling worried that they’re overreacting.
Subtle put-downs disguised as compliments
Experiencing a microaggression at work, where they’ve encountered an indirect or subtle put-down based on a protected characteristic which is wrapped up in what sounds like a compliment. For example, as a black person, someone has touched their hair without permission, giving the impression that it is “novel” or “not normal”.
Concerns that a situation might get worse
If a situation is escalating in seriousness and they are afraid it will get worse.
Our Tell Jane consultants are here to listen, help make sense of how you’re feeling and work with you to find a way forward. They can help document your concerns, build confidence in speaking with colleagues or your manager, and give you practical tools to improve working relationships. They can also offer coaching on how to approach a tricky situation and support you in resolving it quickly.
If you’re looking for mental health support, please consider contacting your internal HR team, using your Employee Assistance Programme or reaching out for professional guidance and wellbeing support, both inside and outside of work.
